The IDEA Engineering Student Center, located just to the right of
the lobby of Jacobs Hall, is a hub for student engagement, academic
enrichment, personal/professional development, leadership, community
involvement, and a respectful learning environment for all. The

Student Center programs:
Workshops and Info Sessions for Engineers (WISE Events): 6 per
quarter, open to all undergraduates
Engineering Graduate & Scholarly Talks: 6 per quarter,
open to all graduate students
Engineering Learning Communities: weekly study groups led by
Peer Educators, covering classes in Math, Physics and Chemistry,
but soon to expand to engineering courses
ENG 10 (2-credit course; application-oriented, hands-on
introduction to engineering)

Join mentoring programs:
Jacobs Undergraduate Mentoring Program (JUMP) undergraduate
students are mentored by graduate students
Transfer Engineering Academic Mentoring (TEAM) pairs new
transfers with upperclassman transfer students
Apply for financial support:
Student Matching Funds (for projects; up to $4,000 per
project)
Student Travel Funds ($200 per student; $600 per student
organization)
