Rescheduling Quizzes or Final

In order to maximize fairness to all students, there will be no rescheduling or makeups for the quizzes or the final exam. I realize that a large number of students feel that they have special circumstances. However, the next student behind you also has their own issues that are very important to them, and there is no fair way to draw the line. Accommodating a large number of rescheduling requests would not be fair to the rest of the students who show up on time and take the tests when they are assigned.

The test dates have all been published on the first day of class. This should be sufficient notice for you to plan your personal activities. This is also consistent with the standard policy used by the vast majority of ECE faculty, which is to allow no rescheduling of tests, regardless of the circumstances.

Late Lab Writeups

Late lab writeups will not be accepted.

Reusing Old Lab Materials or Quiz Grades

If you have taken this course previously, you may not reuse old lab material. Furthermore, you may not apply your lab or quiz grades from a previously failed course to this course. You grade will be entirely based on work that you completed this quarter. If a student turns in a lab assignment without actually doing the lab exercise this quarter, they will receive a zero grade for that lab.

Allowable Materials and Tools During Tests

The quizzes and final will be open books, and open notes. You may also bring a standard numerical or scientific calculator. However, you may not bring a computer with PSpice or similar tools. This includes calculators with circuit simulation capabilities. The use of such tools will be considered cheating. See the section on integrity for more information on how this issue will be dealt with if it arises.

Re-Grading

If you want to have your quiz or lab report re-graded, please attach a note explaining the issue. Note that you only have two weeks after the return of the quiz or report to ask for a re-grade.
