Applied Electromagnetics

Our research is focused on novel electromagnetic structures for antennas and other applications. New developments in metasurfaces such as anisotropic artificial impedance surfaces are enabling advances in conformal antennas and control of surface wave propagation for electromagnetic interference mitigation. Furthermore, the incorporation of nonlinear and active circuit elements into antennas and other electromagnetic structures are enabling broader bandwidth, and other new capabilities such as superluminal propagation. We also develop small antennas, active matching circuits, and new devices for biological applications of electromagnetics.
