Brief Bio: Shadi A. Dayeh received his PhD degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of California San Diego in 2008 and joined Los Alamos National Laboratory as a Director Fellow and was promoted in 2010 to a Distinguished Oppenheimer Fellow where he co-lead the nanowire efforts at Los Alamos. In Nov. 2012, he joined the ECE department at UC San Diego where he directs a program with efforts in a broad range of hetero-integrated electronic materials and devices with particular emphasis on III-V compound semiconductors and the SiGe material systems, fabrication of advanced semiconductor devices with structure/property characterization and analysis for low/high power electronics, energy harvesting and storage, as well as for electro-neural interfaces and nanoscale biomedical devices. He is the recepient of the Electronics Materials Conference outstanding oral presentation (2006), the Materials Research Society graduate student award and best poster award (2007), the Physics and Chemistry of Semiconductor Surfaces and Interfaces (PCSI) young scientist award (2007), the 1st place in the Advanced Technology Workshop student paper competition (2008), the LANL Distinguished Postdoctoral Performance Award (2010), and multiple LANL achievement awards (2009, 2010, 2011), and the NSF Early CAREER Award (2014).
